This is a tough competition; I am finding it hard to make a decision. For example, which of the following do I like the most?
1. Ajnabeeyeh
2. Dubai Sunshine
3. Freedom For Egyptians
4. Reflections on Islamic Art and Architecture
5. Jazz Central
6. Libyano
7. Baheyya
8. Nadz Online
This is so confusing…Maybe I should just vote for my own truly novel design.

what novel? sorry but Jameed blog has no sense of design, and there is a lot of amazing arabic blogs are not on toot so we can vote for their great designs, well i’m not a blogger and i will not vote.

the whole competition is based on the wrong grounds, and here’s why
1) The competition is supposed to be for “the best blogs in the Arab world” and I find that statement extremely exaggerated. Yeah the attempt is there, but I’m not sure it’s true
2) What does “Best design” means? does it mean visually attractive? Contains better organization? More efficient use of screen real state? Runs better technology? Technically superior? Has most original content? Relaxing to the eye? Inspiring? What’s the definition of “Best design” in your view? does it match people’s definition?
3) What about “others” who are not on Toot? What’s the basis of being included on Toot, Content? Value? Appearance? Number of posts? How long you’ve had a blog!!?
I’m not trying to stir up issues here, but usually, a competition has categories and I find this one lacking in that arena.
What I’m seeing is just another “American Idol” vote for popularity competition..

Something stopped me today while browsing through the “top rated” sites on iToot.
Now The black Iris came at number one, I don’t find that surprising, has tons of content and continuously updated. So it’s only fair enough
But what stopped me was the fact that out of the top 10, 7 were Female (at least, I don’t know sabbah)
Now, considering the fact that the number of blogs on Toot is 120 (I counted them), and that male to female ratio is: 30 to 90 or: 25% to 75% ( I counted some, and I estimated some, and some I was really confused so I counted them as female to better the odds nothing more)
Anyway, if 30% get 70% of the top 10. Then “Houston, We have a problem” … which may or may not be one of the following or a combination
A) Arab female bloggers are stellar, they’re unmatched by even Arab male bloggers. Which is a problem because, it means most Arab male bloggers are dumb!
B) Arab female bloggers get more hits cuz, they’re Female! (in other words, “its hard out there for a pimp”)
C) The voting system is crap! and doesn’t work right
So, everyone, bottom line to you all? If you want to get more votes/hits .. Stick a pretty girl’s face on your blog! The content, doesn’t always matter!

Qweider, the issue you raised was brought up in JameedKast 4. “leish bloggat il niswan 3aleihin rijil akthar min bloggat il rjal”; Unfortunately we did not get a satosfacory answer to that :)
The good news is that I narrowed my above list of 8 identically-designed blogs to 6 to choose from.

Jameed habeebi … now you have documented statistics … no longer would anyone tell you speculations!
Apparently the Arab males roaming the Internet got a “thing” for female blogs ;-) so they frequent them min bab silat el Ra7im you know!
I think what many do is just disguised voyeurism they’re just lurking in there…. and the females are giving the everything they need, personal information … what they like and what they don’t … their favorite coffee spots .. where is she going next. If I was a stalker, I would start there… and chicks would be an easy catch!
But on the good side, most ladies around here are over 18 (or all are) so they can take care of themselves

But anyway, I still think that women make better bloggers.
