HM Queen Rania is surely following up on what’s happening in the Jordanian web scene!

In her recent interview in Jordan Business magazine, she talked, among other issues, about the homegrown development of web sites in Jordan.

At TootCorp, we were delighted to read that Ikbis, and Toot where cited by the Queen as two examples of “homegrown web sites that use their tools to generate innovation, creativity and even job growth”.

And at SYNTAX were thrilled that our friends and clients at Akhtaboot, were also mentioned.

That was a great morale booster on a hectic day :-)

Marketing & Partnership Manager

You will be responsible for creatively creating, managing and measuring marketing campaigns run by Watwet in several countries in the region. You will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing partnership opportunities with media companies, events, and other major local and regional businesses, and following up and maintaining these partnerships.

* 2-year relevant experience
* Super social, easy-going and charismatic person
* A quick and structured learner; and has a positive “can-do” attitude
* Ability to prepare and throw presentations comfortably
* Fluent in Arabic and English languages
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills
* Enjoys negotiation & deal-making

* Loves the web, and enjoys working and shining in a startup

User Interface & Graphics Designer

You will be responsible for how things look on Watwet! You see, you are that detail-oriented person, who can’t have a good sleep knowing that the Web Designer (the person mentioned in the below job vacancy) has missed your design by 1 pixel. You have a heart made of stone, and decide to call him/her up at 2:00 in the morning to nag on amending immediately that 1 pixel! :)

Your job will span from designing how things should work on Watwet (almost like product design), how information is presented to users (think: menus, links, hierarchy of information), and making sure Watwet is eye-catchy and loved for its design. You will also be responsible for designing ads (banner ads, printed ads) and stationary.

* 2-year relevant experience
* Loves designing for the web
* Believes in the power of typography, simplicity and colors
* Excellent in illustrations
* Creative thinker and well-cultured
* Updated on latest trends in web user interface design
* Fluent in Arabic and English languages
* Preferably comfortable with Flash
* A big plus would be if you fluently know your way through xhtml and CSS (you would be compensated more!)

While it is preferred that you have some formal experience, if you are a fresh graduate with talent that needs some space to shine in, then we are happy to hear from you too! :)
Web Designer

You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining web and mobile interfaces for Watwet, and other interfaces that we can’t really mention here right now! :)

You are a person who cares a lot about web standards and have read Zeldman, and follows A List Apart and other authorities. You do rock-solid and semantic markup, and know enough about SEO, accessibility and usability.

* Knowledge in xhtml, CSS and Javascript
* Have a close eye on FLEX and Adobe AIR
* Believer of web standards
* Comfortable doing basic stuff over Rails APIs
* Geeky and detailed oriented
* Updated about the new trends
