toot is the sound you make to draw attention to yourself. toot is a fruit that consists of little particles that make up a whole. toots belongs to a tree. toots is sweet. toot toot comes in different colours. No, really, what is this site?
This is what the people have to say.
The Lebanese tooters:
For live blogging:
Lebanese Political Journal
From Beirut to the Beltway
Rampurple:
As if Lebanon’s political situation wasn’t frustarating as is, Hizbullah decided to give us a day full of action and drama! Why do we still have to go through this shit?! It feels like crap sitting in the comfort of my home in Kuwait while people’s homes are being destroyed in Lebanon.
What gives Hizbullah the right to decide the fate of the rest of Lebanon?! I am so sick of this situation. I am sick of the politicians we have as well!
I got so much anger in me I don’t know how to express it!
Beirut Spring:
Hezbollah is trying to fool us. It wants us to believe that it’s offering Israel a fair deal. We are being bluffed to relax, to conclude that Israel will eventually do “the right thing”; because -and here goes the bluff aimed at Israel- we have “Surprises” hidden up our sleeves. (…)
By unilaterally provoking the trigger-happy Israelis yesterday, Hezbollah is squarely to blame for the Lebanese lives wasted, the infrastructure destroyed, the inconvenience caused to millions because of the stalled airport, and the unearned millions of dollars in tourist revenues (with the resulting unemployment and immigration).
2:48 AM:
“With these current attacks you would think the government would wake up and realize that its time to distance themselves from Hezbollah and let the whole world know that the Lebanese people are against Hezbollah and against their actions. But, of course that didn’t happen, the Lebanese government is calling all parties to be united against Israel. What a load of political crap, they are going to make things a lot worst for everyone.”
tooters from the rest of the Arab world:
Iraq the Model:
From an Iraqi perspective I believe that a powerful strike to Hizbollah will be in Iraq’s national interest. Hizbollah is Iran’s and Syria’s partner in feeding instability in Iraq as there were evidence that this terror group has a role in equipping and training insurgents in Iraq and Hizbollah had more than once openly showed support for the “resistance” in Iraq and sponsored the meetings of Baathist and radical Islamist militants who are responsible for most of the violence in Iraq.
Body on the Line:
I was so elated to hear that somone finally retaliated against the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF). At the same time, I’m very fearful of what may happen to Lebanese and Palestinians living in the south of Lebanon in the coming days.
Bakkouz:
Pheras:
What the hell is this guy trying to prove?! Why attack Israel? Why capture their soldiers? Why bombard them? Why start war with them?! You know that you’re not a match to them, why should two countries suffer instead of just one country?!
Mahmood’s Den:
Look: Israel, whether we like it or not, has the upper hand and has had it for an awful long time. Politically, militarily and even morally in the eyes of the world. We have lost the battle on so many fronts that it boggles the mind that we still don’t recognise that the only way forward is swallowing our pride - even momentarily - and making peace. Because if the Palestinians really think that Arabs will come to their rescue, they are dreaming! So facing reality, what have we really benefited over the last 60 years of waging wars with Israel and the whole world other than bigger cemeteries for both sides?
Rantings of a Sandmonkey:
The responses of the people in Egypt are…interesting. My dad’s view is that comic sadness “Those poor lebanese. Every single time they rebuild Beirut, it gets destroyed, so they rebuild it again, and it gets destroyed again. It’s like a Seesaw!”, while my co-worker H. response is of “We should go to War, and attack Israel, if we have any sembelnce of diginity or self-respect. War War war, rah rah rah, blah blah blah”, all said while he lounges confortably in his leather chair.”
Jar Il Qamar:
Rambling Hal:
“I also want to slap religious fanatics that think they have the right to call violence and murder and terrorism by Islam. Them I don’t want to just slap. I want to do other things to them instead. But I won’t go into that now. I’ll try and curb my violent tendencies. It’s too early in the day for blood.”
What’s up in Jordan?
The behavior of successive Israeli governments on this issue seems to be specifically designed to encourage militant groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, and to humiliate moderate forces such as the Jordanian government.
Batir Wardam:

[…] Check out what various bloggers from all around our quite miserable Arab world have to say on a toot round-up I did earlier. It’s interesting reading the different reactions. […]

Bad post, very bad!
most of the quotes, if not all of them, are con-Hizbullah. Not a single one that can be considered pro.
Providing the nature of itoot as a community for a diverse group of bloggers from several countries, a neutral stance is a must, specially in your own blog (the toot blog), which can be looked at as the official source of toot opinions and comments.
So, when picking opinions from the community, seek credibility, let your sample be realistic, covering the different thought streams of the community.

The ironic thing is the fact that Israeli cities of Haifa and Tel aviv are close to Beirut geographically and spiritually: free, open, tolerant, full with night life, culture and economic rise. why does’nt the normal people in both sides uprising against the violence? wake up, people. there is someone who have an interest to prevent normal life in these 2 contries. It’s not Israel nor Lebanon. I afraid we all know who is it. both of us are victims of this contry.
